Hubert "Bo" Bohannon

Hubert "Bo" Bohannon

Hubert “Bo” Bohannon joined The Fiorentino Group in 2007 after having been in Florida government service and private sector state advocacy for more than 34 years.

After studying accounting and business administration at Spartanburg College in South Carolina, Bo began his career in 1974 with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, where he served in various accounting and management positions. He was recruited by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, where he served for 11 years in the positions of bureau chief of licensure, deputy director and director of the Department’s Division of Administration.

In 1995, Bo became chief legislative analyst for commerce and economic development issues for the House Republican caucus. His career included service with House Speakers Peter Rudy Wallace, Daniel Webster, John Thrasher, Tom Feeney, Johnnie Byrd and Alan Bense.He served as chief policy advisor and director of several House policy councils dealing with business and consumer issues, and had administrative oversight for a number of standing policy committees.

Upon leaving government service, Bo served as director of government affairs at The Advocacy Group at Tew Cardenas, where he provided clients with executive and legislative lobbying services. Throughout his governmental consulting career, Bo has represented a wide spectrum of clients including CSX Transportation, AT&T, Progress Energy, the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association, The Miami-Dade Municipal Transportation Authority, The Florida Brownfields Association, The City of Jacksonville and The American Cancer Society.

Mark Claiborne

Mark Claiborne

Mark Claiborne is vice president of customer services for ACR Systems, a Jacksonville, Fla., software company specializing in point-of-sale financial software and services.

Mark leads teams that provide sales support to account executives; conducts business, operational and application analyses of the customer’s operation; designs processes and configures applications for use by the customer; provides training and follow up support for these products and services, within the guidelines of time and money determined in consultation with the customer. Managing projects in the growing market of interactive commerce is an area of special interest and opportunity for the company.

Mark has been with ACR for 22 years and previously worked for another software company providing financial and operational software. Mark graduated from the College of Communication at Florida State University in 1984.

Scott Edinger

Scott Edinger

As executive vice president of sales at Zenger/Folkman in Tampa, Fla., Scott Edinger works with hundreds of leaders each year on how to develop leadership talent in their businesses and address the challenges of organizational change. He is a frequent keynote speaker at national meetings and has contributed to publications such as Leadership Excellence and Sales and Marketing Management. Scott is also the co-author of several white papers, including How Extraordinary Leaders Double Profits.

Prior to joining Zenger|Folkman Scott worked for Huthwaite, Inc. as senior vice president of sales, where he led the company to record-levels of growth and success. Additional industry experience includes his work for Achieve Global, where he consulted with Fortune 500 companies to initiate and implement large-scale performance improvement, management and leadership initiatives. In 1998, Achieve Global recognized Scott as the second-highest performer worldwide among its entire fleet of account executives -- the youngest individual in the company's history to receive the distinction. At Coopers & Lybrand, Scott worked as part of the firm's human resources management team, where he gained experience managing global staffing, recruiting, and resource planning issues.

Scott, who earned a B.S. from The Florida State University in Rhetoric and Communication, is also a respected entrepreneur, having been a principal of a start-up professional services firm providing specialized sourcing and procurement services to the manufacturing industry. After driving record revenue growth, Scott divested his interest in the firm to return to the business of consulting and performance improvement.

Arthur M. Guilford

Dr. Arthur M. Guilford

Dr. Arthur M. Guilford is vice president and CEO of the University of South Florida's Sarasota-Manatee campus, a position he has held since April 20, 2007.

Before moving to USF Sarasota-Manatee in 2006 as interim vice president and CEO, Dr. Guilford worked at the USF Tampa campus for more than 31 years, moving from assistant to associate to full professor, then to chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, a position he held for 14 years. He was named associate dean of faculty and program development for the College of Arts and Sciences in 2004. He has served on numerous college and university-wide committees.

A respected scholar in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Dr. Guilford has a strong track record in grant-writing and research. His most recent book was published in 2007.

Dr. Guilford is a native Floridian and received his bachelor’s degree from The Florida State University, his master’s degree from Tulane University and his doctorate at The University of Michigan. He has taught at The University of Michigan and directed the Aphasia Program there. He also taught at California State University/Los Angeles before coming to USF. He is very active on community boards and is currently on the Board of Directors of the USF-Patel Charter School.

William Mills lll

William Mills III

William Mills III, chief executive officer of the William Mills Agency in Atlanta, Ga., has been with the agency for 25 years and is a recognized leader in financial marketing. He serves as lead consultant for the agency's clients and has personally advised more than 300 chief executives on marketing strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions, company branding and public relations. Other responsibilities include agency financial management, developing client relationships and leading business development for the agency.

In addition to serving on the board of the William Mills Agency, William has served on the advisory board of Los Angeles-based SportsBlast and the board of directors for Beacon Software and Click Tactics. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Entrepreneur magazine and his writings have appeared in a wide variety of publications. He has been a speaker at conferences including the Association for Financial Technology, Mortgage Bankers Association of America and at various colleges and universities.

William received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Florida State University. A Georgia native, he resides in Atlanta with his wife and is the father of two daughters and one granddaughter. William is an active musician, participates in community non-profit organizations and is a foster parent for children prior to their adoption.

Ahli Moore

Ahli Moore

Ahli Moore is president and owner of X-Factor Solutions, based in Atlanta. He is a human performance expert with more than 15 years of organizational development experience.

Ahli founded X-Factor after spending three years as the chief operating officer of Giant Leap Consulting and over a decade with Accenture, the world's premier management and technology consulting firm. Since 1993, Ahli has worked with senior executives, training organizations and human resource departments to increase employee performance and organizational efficiency across a multitude of industries. He has consulted for several Fortune 500 companies to develop customized performance management programs.

Ahli holds a Master of Science degree in Communication with a concentration in information technologies from The Florida State University, and he was recently elected chairman of FSU's College of Communication Leadership Board.

Helena G. Sims

Helena Sims

 

Helena G. Sims has been a Florida legislative analyst, a Washington lobbyist and a press officer for the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging when chaired by Lawton Chiles. Today, her focus is "the ability of electronic systems to communicate with one another," but the work is anything by dry and digital. After all, people run the system.

Ms. Sims is managing director for public-private partnerships for the Electronic Payments Association, or NACHA (National Automated Clearinghouse Association). If you pay a bill by bank draft, you and your bank are using the system. It 2005, $28 trillion traveled through it.

She consults on partnerships crucial to the smooth running of such a complex electronic network, which includes federal agencies, states, insurers and businesses.

She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in Speech Communication from the College of Communication and credits her education with giving her "the fine art of explaining things. Our partnerships succeed only if each of the disparate groups understands the other's perspective."

Ms. Sims moved back to Tallahassee several years ago from Washington, D.C. "Tallahassee has big oak trees and Washington has big monuments. They both have Capitols, high humidity and interesting people. For a 'government junkie' like me, they are both great places to live."

Joe Snowden

Joe Snowden

Joe Snowden, founder and president of McRae Communications in Atlanta, is actively involved in serving the strategic needs of the agency’s clients. As a consultant to marketing leaders at many public and large private companies, Joe provides guidance and insight gleaned from experience across a diverse range of industries.

In addition to serving on the Leadership Board of The Florida State University College of Communication & Information, Joe’s current involvements include serving on the Board of Advisors, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, Americas Region, Worldcom Public Relations Group; Regional Board of Directors, American Association of Advertising Agencies; Executive Board of Directors, Boy Scouts of America, Flint River Council; and Founding Board of Directors, Southern Crescent Chorale.

He has been a speaker and/or panelist for the following groups: Public Relations Society of America, National Conference; National Association of Home Builders' International Builders Show; Advertising and PR organizations throughout the region; Tech Home Expo, California; various colleges and universities; and has been a judge for the Flagler Awards for Tourism.

Joe is a past recipient of the Young Advertising Professional of the Year award from the Atlanta Ad Club and has been recognized by Resolution of Georgia Society of Professional Engineers for “diligent efforts and accomplishments on behalf of this Society.” He is a multiple award winner from the following organizations: Public Relations Society of America; American Advertising Federation; American Marketing Association; International Association of Business Communicators; Atlanta Ad Club; ShowSouth/Creative Club of Atlanta; National Association of Home Builders.

Joe graduated Cum Laude from The Florida State University in 1988 with a BA in Communication.

Dr. John Tetnowski

Dr. John Tetnowski

Dr. John A. Tetnowski completed his Ph.D. in Audiology and Speech Pathology from The Florida State University in 1993. He is currently the Blanco Endowed Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he also directs the master's degree program in Communicative Disorders and the Ph.D. program in Applied Language and Speech Sciences.

Dr. Tetnowski has published more than 50 articles, book chapters, and an edited textbook dealing with stuttering, research methodologies, and evaluation strategies in speech-language pathology. He has presented his research nationally and internationally. In addition, he is a Board Recognized Fluency Specialist and Mentor and has treated people who stutter for more than 20 years.

He was recognized in 2006 as the National Stuttering Association’s Speech-Language Pathologist of the Year. He lives in Lafayette, La., with his wife, Jennifer (M.A., 1991), and their daughter Jessica, who wants to attend FSU in the future and continue the family tradition.

Dr. Bill Williams

Dr. Bill Williams

Dr. Bill Williams is director of and a professor at the University of Florida Craniofacial Center in Gainesville, Fla. He is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a recipient of the Florida Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Clinical Achievement Award and is past president of the Florida Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.

Dr. Williams’ areas of clinical interests include radiography, endoscopy, oral sensation-perception and oral motor disorders associated with craniofacial malformations. He has published extensively on the topic of communicative disorders associated with craniofacial malformations.

He is the principal investigator of two international NIDCR grants in cooperation with the University of Säo Paulo, Bauru, Brazil, investigating speech outcome measures for different palatal surgeries.

Victoria Vangalis Zepp

Victoria Vangalis Zepp

Victoria Vangalis-Zepp is president of Zepp Strategic Partners, a government and business consulting firm in Tallahassee. Her expertise in telecommunications, marketing communications, communication disorders, and government affairs help her bring unique and valuable insight to the college advisory board.

She began her career with Dun & Bradstreet as a national executive focused on marketing communications through sophisticated database modeling and optimization, helping Walt Disney World, Ryder Move Management, and other global companies market with optimum intelligence. Ms. Zepp then joined the growing Tampa-based Intermedia Communications, which grew from an entrepreneurial local start-up telephone company to the third-largest data carrier in the country. She also was appointed to Gov. Jeb Bush’s transition team assigned to the State Technology Office.

In 2001, Victoria founded Zepp Strategic Partners and has represented a diverse group before the Florida Legislature that includes Tenet Healthcare Corporation, IBM, MCI, Pearson Education and UPS. Her pro-bono work includes advocacy for autism and related disabilities. In 2004, she became co-founder for Findthecure.us, an advocacy and fundraising mechanism for autism awareness efforts around the country which has donated funding to FSU Autism Project.

Ms. Zepp has served on numerous education and community boards over the years, including the Florida Education Foundation, NetDay, Federal Black Caucus on Telecommunications, Children’s Home Society, LifeSkills Center, Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists, Florida TaxWatch Center for Competitive Florida, Digital Divide Council, and FSU’s CARD Advisory Board.
