Communication Undergraduate Programs

The FSU School of Communication offers majors at both its main campus in Tallahassee and its Panama City, Fla., campus, as well as two minors at its main Tallahassee campus.

The majors offered at main campus are Media/Communication Studies, Advertising, Public Relations, and Media Production. The minors are in Communication and in Hispanic Marketing Communication. Acceptance into all our undergraduate majors is highly competitive. Our programs are limited-access and limited-enrollment.

Application Deadlines & Requirements

We admit new majors to our undergraduate programs in fall semester only, although students admitted for fall have the option of starting coursework in summer. Students must be on track to have completed 43 hours of coursework by the end of the spring semester in which they apply to qualify for consideration. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. EST on the first business day in February. If February 1 falls on a weekend, the first business day is the following Monday. Two information sessions are held each fall semester for students interested in majoring in one of our programs, with a third session held in January. The information provided at these meetings can be valuable in preparing an application to our highly competitive programs.
